We're a true Vermont General Store located on Main Street in Norwich, Vermont. Our goal has always been to provide the daily necessities of our customers here in the Upper Valley area; as well as stocking those items that are requests of our customers. We take pride in the personal service and caring that you'll find when you come in and shop with us.
The store may look small when you pull in to park... but when you come inside and begin to wander around, you'll discover the store is much larger than it appears, and that the shelves are stocked with everything from seasonal items and groceries to hardware and Vermont products. If you find that you need something special ordered just let us know. You may have even been in to shop with us now and again, but you may not consider yourself a regular customer, in which case, tour the Dan and Whit's website!
As you tour our web site you will find images from the past and present you can click on for a larger view, you will also find quite a bit of information about our store and its long history in Norwich, with the building dating back to the late 1890's. You'll also discover that Dan & Whit's has even been mentioned in the United States Congressional Record by Vermont's own U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy.
Even now that the store is run by Dan's children and grandchildren; the next generations of Dan's family continue to make sure that the focus of the store is still the same; personal service, a friendly knowledgeable staff, and what you need when you need it.
